Happy New Year from Baghdad, Iraq

Happy New Year from Baghdad, Iraq!!!

We had fun ringing in the New Year.  After work on New Year's Eve, a dozen of us from the office went to the Internet Café to play Phase 10 (card game) and drink coffee/cider until the ball dropped.  The Café is in the US Embassy (Sadaam's favorite Palace) which had a ton of decorations, a big screen with football games, live band with soldiers playing, and a DJ later on.  Noisemakers, silly string, and hats were a hit throughout the evening.  I was able to capture some of the enthusiasm before we left the office--it really is a fun crew here!  We were able to sleep in a bit and report for duty at 10 a.m. on New Year's Day.

May God richly bless you and your families as you enter into this New Year!

Temperature Update: Breezy, 35 degrees

Deployment Countdown:  17 Weeks Down (66%) -- 9 Weeks to Go (34%)

For God and Country,
Tracie
