We have a gate with a cypher lock between the flightline and the dining facility that gets quite a bit of traffic three times a day. I can't count how many broken cypher locks since we arrived in May. So when the latest cypher lock was installed on 10 July, it was the ongoing joke how long it would last.
It became a topic of conversation in our section chief morning stand-up and I posted the updates on my office marker board using commonly used maintenance terms
Then only 3 days later, I witnessed and photographed security forces dismantling our prized barrier
This is what took it's place...such a simple invention that takes a few extra minutes for our security!
